I started playing piano at age 6, and I always loved creating my own songs. At age 15 I joined a jam/rock band called Cosmic Fool, and through that experience I learned to really listen and play as part of a group. I also developed an intense love for the Hammond Organ, synthesizers, and other kinds of keyboard instruments, as well live sound equipment and audio recording.

In college I earned a minor in music, and took jazz piano lessons. I was a member of the stage crew for the UIUC School of Music, where I helped set up and break down after performances. This experience allowed me to listen to hundreds of amazing classical, jazz, and experimental music concerts. I developed a deep respect and awe of the power of music. After graduation, I spent some years gigging, teaching, and exploring other occupations. In 2014, I went back and earned a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies.

In 2016 I moved from my native Chicago to Vermont, where I currently reside. As a professional musician and teacher, I have continued to explore and develop my passion for music. I play solo piano and with many groups. In 2024 I released my first full-length album, "Joy of Being Alive," which has garnered good reviews

In 2025 I have been focusing on playing "intuitive improvisations." Of course, musicians have been improvising for centuries, but my own twist on this genre is that I intentionally play for a specific person, people, or issue in order to confer beneficial energetic effects, somewhat like a prayer, mantra, or affirmation. While this might sound a bit "out there" to some, I find it a way of creating music that is both inspired and customized. And I have had great feedback on the strong effect that these piano creations have on the listener! So that's an interesting new development that I look forward to exploring further.

So whether you are looking for a piano teacher, a live pianist or band, or a creator for some special music, I am at your service!
